While I’m slowly recovering and feeling stronger every day I thought I might as well use Zala’s nap time to write a blog post. It’s been so long since I’ve written regularly. Coincidentally a package arrived for me a couple of days ago. From Korea with love. It was Mizon’s Good Night White Sleeping Mask followed the next day by five of Missha’s Herb in nude sheet masks. But let’s start with the sleeping pack first.
Sleeping packs, sleeping masks
My Tony Moly Panda’s Dream White Sleeping Pack is almost gone so I needed something new. Even though I just adore this product and keep buying it, I still like to try something new from time to time. So far I haven’t found something I would prefer over my Pandas. So I started looking for alternatives and naturally I first turn to my favorite brands: Missha, Laneige, Tony Moly, Innisfree, Mizon. I’m not the biggest fan of Missha’s creams, I mostly go for their masks, serums and such. I’ve already been trough Laneige and Tony Moly lately and I’m currently using an Innisfree day cream. So here we go, Mizon is the pick. I was torn between the collagen one and the brightening one but ultimately decided to go with the brightening. I have some post pregnancy pigmentation issues that need to be addressed. Brightening products helped after my first baby so I’m trying this again.
Of course, I can’t testify about its efficiency after two days of use but at least I can comment on the short-term effects and such. So.
Mizon Good Night White Sleeping Mask
It comes in Mizon’s typical packaging. Nice shiny card box with a plastic jar inside. The consistency is also typical. For a sleeping pack that is, Dense but jelly. A little bit goes a long way and spreads easily. I still rather put on a bit more, it absorbs quickly anyway and it’s a mask. You can never have too much of a mask, especially at night when it doesn’t interfere with anything else. And since it does absorb really quickly you don’t have to worry about leaving some on your pillow.
Once applied the feeling is really good. Light, fresh, no stinging or burning. I usually don’t have sensitive skin so I’m not a relevant source for this kind information, but lately, my skin has been really dry and I have to be quite careful with it. So if it works for me, you can be quite sure it will not irritate you as well.
The only downside is hydration. I know this mask is not meant for that but I have gotten so used to only applying my panda mask, that this feels weird. See, the Tony Moly Panda’s Dream White Sleeping Pack is also a brightening mask but it is so hydrating that I don’t need an additional lotion or cream before it. I just apply the mask before going to sleep and my face wakes up perfectly hydrated.
On the other hand, this mask is not enough for me. I apply a light cream first and the mask 10 minutes or so later. If I don’t, I wake up feeling tight and dry. I guess it would be enough for me during the summer when my skin is considerably less dry, but I don’t use brightening products then.
All in all, I like this mask and will definitely use it but I don’t think I will be repurchasing. Unless it turns out it works incredibly well in the brightening department, which I will see in about a month. But if it doesn’t there are just too many better alternatives that do their brightening job and hydrate as well. But if you don’t have dry skin I would recommend it, since the feeling of it is really nice.
Will be updating you with more long-term effects later.
